50. . Edge. UTSA. Marcus Davenport. 20. player

The Detroit Lions nearly made the playoffs for the second straight season in 2017, though they fell just short. Prior to the regular season, the organization made Matthew Stafford the highest-paid player in the NFL, and he did not disappoint. The team just did not have enough weapons on either side of the ball to make it back to the postseason, but they should be back in 2018.

While the offense looks to be ready to battle it out in the NFC North, this defense needs work. Sure, they locked up Ezekiel Ansah already this offseason, but they need help on the edges heading into next season. One player they could target this late in round one is Marcus Davenport, who is one of the highest-rated edge rushers in this draft class.

Davenport is going to be an explosive player at the next level, and the Lions certainly need someone with his skill set. The NFC North should be interesting next season, as the Packers will have Rodgers back, and the Vikings are coming off a season that landed them in the NFC Championship Game. The Lions have the horses to challenge anyone in the division, and Davenport should put their pass rush over the top.
