The Rams have loaded up on offense in an effort to add weapons for quarterback Jared Goff, and the depth of this wide receiver class could find them dipping into the pool yet again.

Iowa State’s Allen Lazard is a massive wide receiver prospect (6-foot-5 and 227 pounds) who could be an excellent weapon in the red zone as a hybrid wide receiver/tight end for Sean McVay’s offense. Todd Gurley received the brunt of the workload in the red zone last season, and adding a player with Lazard’s physicality and ability to make tough, contested catches, will do wonders for decreasing his workload in 2018.

Lazard isn’t a deep threat and will struggle to get separation at the next level, but did manage to post some impressive agility numbers at the Combine (4.55-second forty-yard dash, 122-inch broad jump) that should help ease some concerns about his athleticism.

Josh Reynolds figures to have a bigger role going forward and pairing him with Lazard (and Cooper Kupp) makes for a pretty dynamic receiving corps at all levels of the field. Sean McVay’s creativity on the offensive side of the ball could put Lazard in position to post some great numbers as a rookie receiver, continuing to build on Los Angeles’ impressive rebuild at the skill positions.
