4. Baltimore Ravens
There aren’t many teams in more of a desperate need of talent on offense than the Baltimore Ravens. Even with the question marks Watkins has, he’d be a massive upgrade over what the Ravens currently have. Jeremy Maclin and Mike Wallace might make fine complimentary weapons but they are not true number one options in an offense.
Maclin struggled mightily this past season and the Kansas City Chiefs look smart for releasing him(although maybe not so much for trading Marcus Peters). Wallace has only surpassed 1,000 yards once in the past five seasons and will be 32 this year. Former first-round pick Breshad Perriman has yet to make an impact. The Ravens needs speed and talent on the outside in a major way.
Watkins would be a nice fit as far as a skill set with quarterback Joe Flacco as well. Flacco has a penchant for throwing the ball deep when he can. If there is one thing Watkins does well when he’s healthy, it’s be a consistent deep threat. There is no question Watkins would walk into the door and be the number one option right off the bat. Coupled with a suddenly strong running back corps anchored by Alex Collins, the Ravens offense could turnaround quickly if Watkins meshes with Flacco early.
Despite all the noise around Flacco and not being that great of a quarterback, the best receiver he’s had is likely Steve Smith on the back end of his career. His numbers from 2017 look weak from the view of yards and catch per attempt. Just keep in mind the weaponry he had around him. From a talent perspective, Watkins would be the best Flacco has ever had. He could be a terror in the AFC North attached to Flacco’s big arm.
