Jarvis Landry, WR

Former team: Miami Dolphins

If the 49ers strike out with Allen Robinson, or he is franchise tagged by the Jaguars there are other options out there at wide receiver. Former Miami Dolphins’ Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry looks like he will be available.

Despite leading the NFL in catches this past season the Dolphins are preparing to lose Landry. Reports from Landry’s camp are saying that he feels disrespected by the Miami’s front office’s offers to him.

All indications are that Landry expects to sign a deal similar to the top receivers in the league. Something like the contract the aforementioned Adams got from Green Bay. The Dolphins are looking at the situation more along the lines of what Seattle pays Doug Baldwin and Los Angeles pays Keenan Allen. That would be a $3-4 million difference per year.

Landry can clearly excel in the short range and is a target monster for teams. The issue becomes his ability to score and do anything vertically. Of the top 25 players in receptions, Landry had a per catch yardage average closer to running backs than any other wide receiver.

Regardless of those concerns, Landry is an elite NFL receiver. He would pair well in San Francisco’s offense. With Garcon working the intermediate area, and Goodwin taking the top off the defense, Landry could be the short are playmaker to keep the chains moving and the offense on track.

If Miami lets him go, Landry will likely see the contract he desires from another team. San Francisco given their available money should be one of the teams offering it to him.
