2018 NBA Mock Draft: Luka Doncic could be the first piece of the Memphis Grizzlies’ rebuild

Young was unable to lead the Sooners to a victory in their first Big 12 tournament game on Wednesday night, again suffering through a disappointing shooting night and doing little to quiet the loud questions about his future.

During the ESPN broadcast, sideline reporter Kris Budden talked about a conversation she had with Young, in which the freshman said his struggles partially derived from the fact that he felt like the whole nation was watching him. While that’s certainly true, considering Young’s outrageous rise into the spotlight during the early part of conference play, the degree to which it impacted his play is concerning.

It’s nearly impossible to project something like attitude or confidence for a draft prospect. That kind of stuff is difficult even for NBA teams allowed to interview these players at the combine. However, someone like Young, who hopefully turns into some version of Stephen Curry, must have confidence to play his preferred style. It’s worrisome that his confidence could disappear so easily.

Still, skills like Young’s rarely come pre-packaged in a player so young. The Cavaliers will need an injection of talent in this year’s draft with their future so cloudy, and Young is a good match.
