2018 NFL Combine: 10 players who helped their stock

7. D.J. Moore, WR, Maryland
There was already one wide receiver on the list with Courtland Sutton. He is the big strong physical outside receiver that teams talk themselves into. Sutton was declared a winner because of excellent abilities and enough deep speed it’s not a concern. There was another receiver who came in with questions and answered almost all of them. D.J. Moore of Maryland will start to hear round one buzz after an excellent performance in Indianapolis.
The biggest test for Moore came before any of the athletes even took the field. Maryland listed him at 5-foot-11, and thre were NFL teams with his height at 5-foot-10. Once he came in at 6-feet that was a win for him.
His impressive weekend did not stop there. The former Terrapin put up a solid 15 reps on the bench, good enough for the 55th percentile. As soon as he got onto the turf, he proved how good of an athlete he truly is.
It started with a 4.42 40 yard dash, which places him in the 83rd percentile. His speed was evident on tape, he showed off his skills with the ball in his hands frequently in college. Both of his jumps were even more impressive. His vertical jump of 39.5 inches was in the 90th percentile. Meanwhile, his elite broad jump of 132″ is in the 96th percentile. Finally both of his shuttles were above the 80th percentile, cementing his place as an athlete.
Moore is now in the running to be the second wide receiver off the board after Alabama’s Calvin Ridley. There may even be discussion of Moore going ahead of Ridley due to the National Champion’s sub-par showing in Indianapolis.
