Sixth Round

Miami hasn’t exactly replaced Dan Marino yet at quarterback. Though they could go for a guy in the first-round, the Dolphins really need to fix its secondary more than anything. That being said, they could get a good value selection in taking quarterback Mike White out of Western Kentucky at No. 183.

White completed 66.4 percent of his passes for 8,540 yards, 63 touchdowns and 15 interceptions in his two years with Western Kentucky. He is 6-foot-5, 224 pounds and has the frame to be a solid passer for the Dolphins. White may prove to be a system quarterback in college, but he’s worth taking a chance on in the sixth round of this draft for sure.

Seventh Round

After trading Jarvis Landry to the Cleveland Browns, the Dolphins could look to add depth to the receiving corps on the cheap in the latter rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft. A potential late-round sleeper for them might be Byron Pringle of the Kansas State Wildcats.

In two years with K-State, Pringle had 69 catches for 1,355 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is 6-foot-1, 203 pounds and ran a 4.46 40-yard dash at the combine. While Kansas State didn’t have a prolific passing offense in his two years in Manhattan, Pringle could be a rotational player for the Dolphins as a rookie in 2018.

Miami might as well go with a tight end with its last pick in the seventh round at No. 229. Head coach Adam Gase knows what he’s doing with that position group. The pick here could very well be Chris Herndon of the Miami Hurricanes.

Herndon is 6-foot-4, 253 pounds. In three years with Miami, he had 86 catches for 1,048 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Given that he played in a pro-style offense for head coach Mark Richt the last two years, that could help his chances for making an NFL roster as a rookie.
