The Washington Redskins made a big move already this offseason, as they changed quarterbacks for the upcoming season. After failing to make a long-term commitment to Kirk Cousins, the team went out and traded with the Kansas City Chiefs for Alex Smith. Smith has been one of the better regular season quarterbacks in the NFL in recent seasons, and should bring a winning attitude to the Nation’s Capital next season.

When it comes to the roster, there are plenty of ways they could go during the 2018 NFL Draft. However, sitting at No. 12 in our mock draft, it would be hard to pass up a player like Vita Vea from Washington at this point in the first round. Vea has the talent to be a standout defensive tackle in this league, and his impact will be felt from year one.

The NFC East is going to be loaded next season, and with Smith as their quarterback, the Redskins should be able to win their fair share of games. Unfortunately, their defense has been bad the last decade or so, so bringing in a player like Vea makes sense in the first round. This team has the talent to contend for a playoff spot next season, and Vea would give them the push up front they need on defense to be competitive in their division.
