2018 NFL Mock Draft: Browns land Saquon Barkley
By Brad Weiss
For the past couple of weeks, we have been putting Calvin Ridley to the Chicago Bears with the eighth overall pick. The thought process behind that was that the Bears really had no weapons in the passing game for Mitchell Trubisky, whom they traded up one spot in the 2017 NFL Draft to take No. 2 overall. Well, all of that changed on Tuesday morning, as the team went out and grabbed Allen Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Robinson was the most coveted wide receiver in free agency, so it is definitely a huge signing for the Bears. Thanks to them swinging that deal, the team may look to bring in some talent on the defensive side of the ball with this draft pick instead. One player who could really help them right away is Tremaine Edmunds, a stud linebacker from Virginia Tech.
Edmunds is only 19-years old, but he already has the physical gifts of a player who could be a dominant linebacker at the NFL level right away. He has an incredible football IQ, and is one of those rare players who can really play sideline to sideline. Edmunds would bring a level of talent to the linebacking corps that the Bears have not had in some time, making their already solid defense even better next season.
