Round 2 – Pick 61

Tyrell Crosby, T, Oregon

With a team as complete as Jacksonville, the draft can be used to find future players. After signing guard Andrew Norwell to a massive deal, the Jaguars are set up front. Their starting tackles are last year’s second round pick Cam Robinson and Jeremy Parnell. Robinson played well in his rookie year and looks to be the future at the right tackle position. Parnell, meanwhile, had a solid season but is 31 years old. Grabbing an heir apparent in a deep tackle class could set up their line for the future.

Tyrell Crosby is one of the tackles that could end up anywhere from the end of round one to all the way into round three. Crosby is a massive man at 6-foot-5 and 325 pounds. At Oregon he was a three year starter for the run-heavy Ducks’ offense. He also has experience playing at both tackle spots, something that will come in handy if he lands in Jacksonville.

Crosby and Robinson would give the Jaguars two of the best run blocking tackles in the NFL should Crosby take over in 2019 for Parnell. As a rookie he could learn and improve his technique. Crosby primarily wins with his length and strength in the run game. Improved pass protection will be key once he supplants Parnell. Interestingly enough, NFL’s Lance Zierlein compares Crosby to Parnell in his draft write up for the former Oregon Duck.
