Fourth Round

With the Texans already landing The Honey Badger in free agency this spring, it does take a bit of pressure of Houston to go with a safety high in the upcoming draft. That being said, this does look to be a better year in the defensive backfield than most in the draft. Maybe the Texans use their No. 103 pick on West Virginia’s Kyzir White.

You might have heard of White’s older brother in former Mountaineers wideout Kevin White. The older White was a top-10 pick by the Chicago Bears out West Virginia, but health has been an issue for him so far in his NFL career. Hopefully his younger brother isn’t as plagued by injury as him.

White is 6-foot-2, 218 pounds. While he didn’t run the 40-yard dash at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, White had a vertical jump of 35.5 inches and a broad jump of 113.0 inches. He has the frame, and probably the range, to eventually be an NFL starter in some defensive backfield.

In two years at West Virginia, White had 152 total tackles (113 solo, 39 assists), 14.5 for a loss of yardage, nine pass breakups, 4.0 quarterback sacks, four pass breakups four forced fumbles, three interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
