2018 NBA Mock Draft: Where did the prospects go?
Sexton helped his team on a magical postseason run and his 25 points led Alabama into the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Virginia Tech provided an interesting match for the Crimson Tide, who rely so heavily on Sexton. In comparison, the Hokies spread the ball around and count on contributions from across their roster. They do the same defensively, putting up a puncturable zone.
Sexton found holes in the zone consistently, and got to the line 14 times in that first round game. He has fallen a little as others have shown consistency and efficiency, but Sexton has to be in the lottery. He simply has too high a ceiling to completely ignore if you’re a non-playoff team.
The Tide where wiped by Villanova but it won’t take the shine off what he’s done the last few games of the season. This impressive ride could very well continue into Summer League and NBA training camp, as whoever misses out on Trae Young could easily find solace in Sexton as a Plan B.
