Dallas Cowboys 2018 full mock draft

Round 4 – Pick 116
Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis
This wide receiver class is very strange. The gap between the top players is so small that it’s going to become a challenge for teams to find guys that fit what they want their receivers to do. For Dallas the signing of Hurns may have pushed the need down a bit, but the team will still likely invest an asset into the receiver position.
Anthony Miller of Memphis was once considered a lock for the top 50. A foot injury caused him to not perform at the combine and skip the Senior Bowl. Now his stock is falling, right into the Cowboys’ lap in the fourth round.
Miller is not the biggest receiver at just under 6-foot but he makes up for it with sharp cuts and great separation. There are times where he will look covered but hit a defender with a quick move and blow away. The biggest knock on Miller is the lack of testing times which push him down the board. He will also need to work on some issues with catching and ball security moving forward.
Round 4 – Pick 137
Ian Thomas, TE, Indiana
Jason Witten is one of the NFL’s best tight ends of all time. He is also entering his 17th season and is 35 years old. Dallas has a few intriguing options behind him in Rico Gathers and Blake Jarwin, but neither are close to proven commodities. Grabbing a tight end that can impact the game with Witten on the field and develop would be wise.
Ian Thomas of Indiana is that type of player. His excellent speed for a tight end was on display at the combine with a 4.74 40 at almost 250 pounds. Thomas flashed in his time at Indiana, especially against big time opponents like Ohio State.
Drafting a player with his type of speed allows Witten to continue to work his underneath stuff. A two tight end set featuring both would not hinder Dallas’ excellent run game while also giving the passing game some juice. Thomas could be the replacement for Witten with some development from one of the all-time greats as a teacher.
