Green Bay Packers full 2018 NFL mock draft
Round 6, Pick 186 — Cedrick Wilson WR Boise State
Ideally, the Packers wouldn’t wait this long to add a receiver given the loss of Jordy Nelson and the possibility of letting Randall Cobb walk this time next season. Wilson is a former quarterback who lacks elite athletic ability, but is an extremely hard worker who uses nuance to create separation and showed a knack for making plays down the field. With Davante Adams and Cobb in place with Geronimo Allison, the Packers wouldn’t need Wilson to do more than a fourth receiver, and won’t be more than a fifth or sixth option with Jimmy Graham and Montgomery.
Round 6, Pick 207 — Nik Shimonek QB Texas Tech
After Brett Hundley struggled as the replacement for Aaron Rodgers last season, the Packers dealt their best corner for DeShonne Kizer. That wrote all over the wall when it comes to Hundley’s future in Green Bay. Shimonek is a former Iowa transfer who played behind Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech. He’s inconsistent, but has size and arm talent to go with good-enough athletic ability. As a third quarterback/practice squad player, this is a good gamble and insurance against having to roster Joe Callahan.
