Round 7 Pick, 232 —  Javon Wims WR Georgia

Green Bay loves athletes with backgrounds in other sports and Wims was a former basketball capable of making highlight reel plays despite his inexperience. He lacks top-end athleticism or nuance as a route-runner, but Wims is an ascending player who fits Green Bay’s preferred athletic profile. These are the kind of swings the Packers love to take at this point in the draft and Wims has the chance to develop into a contributor at the NFL level.

Round 7, Pick 239 — Garret Dooley OLB Wisconsin

What Dooley lacks in ideal size, but is a physical, aggressive player on the edge with solid straight-line athleticism. He tested better as a change-of-direction player than expected as well, allaying some concerns about his stiffness and ability to play in space. Dooley doesn’t have to be a Pro Bowler to make this pick work, just be a capable backup edge player and special teams player. He more than fits the bill on both counts.
