2018 NFL Mock Draft: Sam Darnold goes to Browns
By Brad Weiss
Thanks to the trade they made during the 2017 NFL Draft with the Houston Texans, the Cleveland Browns will also be picking at No. 4 in the first round in April. While they are definitely going to be selecting a quarterback first overall, their No. 4 pick could be a handful of players, depending on what the New York Giants do at No. 2. My guess is they will take the best offensive player in this draft class, and that is Saquon Barkley from Penn State.
Let us not get this messed up. Barkley is an absolute freak of an athlete, and any team that gets him will be getting a player who instantly makes them better. Look at what Christian McCaffrey did for the Carolina Panthers last season and multiply that by ten. That is how good Barkley is going to be at the NFL level.
The Browns have gone out this offseason and made themselves an actual NFL football team, bringing in guys like Jarvis Landry, Carlos Hyde, and Tyrod Taylor. Those players can help them improve on offense, but a player like Barkley can put them over the top. They have to figure out how to replace future Hall of Famer Joe Thomas at offensive tackle, but this Browns team is not going to go winless next season, that is for sure.
