18. Philadelphia Flyers (-2)

The Philadelphia Flyers are currently in the top wild card spot in the Eastern Conference with a six-point cushion on the Florida Panthers. The Flyers have had a lot of things go right for them this season, which has gotten them back to the playoffs. The primary reason is the re-emergence of top scorers Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek. Claude Giroux is currently fifth in the league in terms of total points with 91. Voracek is not far behind with 80 total points. The emergence of Sean Couturier has helped the Flyers are well. He is a dark horse candidate with his strong defensive play, but he has also chipped in on offense with 71 points.

The Philadelphia Flyers are locked in an important battle with the Pittsburgh Penguins for home ice advantage in the first round. Both teams have 92 points, but the Penguins have a game in hand on the Flyers. The Flyers split their last six games, winning three and losing three. Their wins came against the Washington Capitals, New York Rangers and Colorado Avalanche. All three of their losses came in overtime or the shootout so the Flyers were able to at least earn a point. Their final four games of the season are against the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders, Carolina Hurricanes and New York Rangers. The Flyers will have to be perfect down the stretch as they can afford to give the Penguins any type of advantage in the race for second.
