Round 6 – Pick 180

Deadrin Senat, DT, South Florida

Tampa Bay added some beef up front in Eagle’s free agent Beau Allen. He will join All-Pro Gerald McCoy in the interior of the defensive line for the Buccaneers. After those two there is little depth at the position. A local product Deadrin Senat would give them that. Senat is a short but bulky run-stuffing defensive tackle. His ability to hold the point of contact and settle in behind the line of scrimmage make him a nightmare for guards and centers.  A strong East-West Shrine Game performance elevated his draft stock and there is a chance he moves into the latter stages of day two when the drat actually rolls around.

Round 6 – Pick 202

Tegray Scales, LB, Indiana

One area of strength for the Buccaneers defense is the linebacker position. Lavonte David is one of the NFL’s best playing the weak-side and destroying offensive game plans. Fellow line backer Kwon Alexander played well in 2017 earning a Pro Bowl invitation. The two pair to be the strength in the middle for this team but it did little to help the unit as a whole. Tampa could use depth behind the two and fellow linebacker Kendell Beckwith.

Tegray Scales of Indiana is an ultra-productive player for the Hoosiers. Despite behind a step slow and a shorter prospect, Scales makes up for it with great instincts. To start he would make a great depth piece and special teams contributor. Eventually he has the possibility of being a replacement for Beckwith on the strong side.

Round 7 – Pick 255

Tre Flowers, S, Oklahoma State

On draft weekend, it would not be a surprise to see the Buccaneers spend three of their seven picks on the defensive backfield. Former second round pick Justin Evans is slotted for a bigger role in 2018. Isaiaho Oliver and the incumbent players should strengthen the corner position. Opposite Evans it will be a battle to find a starter, likely ending with Chris Conte winning the job.

Tre Flowers of Oklahoma State would be a depth piece with the possibility of earning a bigger role. Flowers has starter size and was an impact player for the Cowboys’ defense. However diving deeper into his tape shows a player with limited range and a slower reaction than necessary to be a starter at the next level. He has the possibility of earning a bigger role but will likely be a reserve in the NFL.
