FanDuel Picks and Lineup for Friday, April 6th
Outfield, High End Spend
George Springer, $4,300
0 at-bats vs. Luis Perdomo
The Houston Astros should be one of the highest scoring offenses of the day and Springer is going to leadoff. He’s right in the crosshairs for the high end spend in the outfield today. It seems odd that Springer’s OPS at home vs. righties last season was under .800 but Springer gets a tomato can in Perdomo. There’s a plethora of options on the high end today and if you’re playing the all day, Charlie Blackmon hit .342 with a .978 OPS and a .414 wOBA against righties at Coors Field. That’s borderline unfair.
In Consideration – Mike Trout, $4,800 and Giancarlo Stanton/Aaron Judge, $4,900 and $4,700
Mid-Range
Josh Reddick, $3,500
.800/.800/1.400 with 1 HR in 5 at-bats
The price is a little uncomfortable because it is so high but Reddick is in a big time spot. The last time he was in this type of spot, he hung over 50 FanDuel points and while he likely won’t do that again, he can still pay off the price. He’s great against righties and the Astros should be able to hang a crooked number today. Reddick has a big chance to be an important cog in the offense. He also like some home cooking vs. righties, with career marks of a .823 OPS and .351 wOBA.
In Consideration – Preston Tucker, $3,300, Kevin Pillar, $3,100 and Adam Jones, $3,200
Value
Andrew McCutchen, $2,300
.200/.200/.800 with 2 HR in 10 at-bats
Even though I do have some interest in Kenta Maeda, this price is just too low for Andrew McCutchen. Is he as good as he was a few seasons ago when he was the N.L. MVP? No, but you don’t need him to be to pay off his salary at this point. The Giants offense has been just terrible so far and Cutch has been a part of that. He’s just not going to average 2.5 FanDuel points for very long. His price will be more towards $3,000 for most of the season. We should at least think about jumping on this while we can.
In Consideration – Brandon Guyer, $2,300 and Jesse Winker, $2,400
