If you haven’t been watching 205 Live over the past few months, you’ve truly been missing out. While the start of the show was less than ideal as everyone just wondered why the Cruiserweight Division couldn’t just be featured on RAW or SmackDown and had to be its own show. However, since the arrival of Drake Maverick as the general manager of the show, it’s taken a drastic turn for the better and might be some of the best programming that the company is offering right now.

A big reason for that has been the 16-man tournament for the vacant Cruiserweight Championship. They were smart to somewhat revive the Cruiserweight Classic — in format and spirit — after that was such a big hit with fans. More importantly, though, it’s really given the talent on 205 Live the chance to prove themselves. Chief among those performers are the two friends who will compete in the finals at WrestleMania 34, Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali.

These two put on a fantastic match just prior to the announcement of the tournament, and it appears serendipitous that they’d now meet in New Orleans. Either would be a good option to take up the vacant belt as they both have the in-ring ability and personality to carry the torch as the leader of the division. Having said that, Alexander seems more ready to be in that role with more selling power as the top Cruiserweight on the roster. Thus, he seems like the logical choice to win at Mania.
