1. Is your goalie Quick?

Jonathan Quick has 33 wins this season and a .923 save percentage. His save percentage is the highest it’s been since 2012. With two Cups and a playoff MVP award already under his belt, Quick looks like the wall that led this team for the better part of the last seven seasons.

Let’s talk the unexplainable — what possesses a human to stand in front (albeit in pads) of 100 mph shots and take the abuse in front of the net that dictates playoff hockey? There is no answer to where courage comes from. Speaking of unexplainable, Quick has a sixth sense. Some of the saves he has made throughout his career are simply jaw-dropping. He has that same never say die attitude mentioned earlier and even more so a team feeds off of and plays harder for a guy who literally plays his heart out every game.

Much like the loser mentality that plagued so many Kings fans for so long, these are the new Kings, which are almost entirely run by a bunch of retired Kings and have once again figured out the winning recipe at the right time. That feeling that so many have had of accepting losing playoff runs will have to wait until next year because past performance very much can dictate future outcomes.

Make room in the rafters at Staples Center, because this year looks like it may be another hopeful repeat of past results becoming current success. Ladies and gentleman, your 2018 Stanley Cup champions will be the Los Angeles Kings. Royalty will once again reign supreme.
