1. It’s time

With deepest sympathies to Alex Ovechkin, this is simply the year for the Lightning. 14 years is long enough. Of course, some teams have never won a Cup in their existence, sure. Please put the tomatoes away.

All told, it simply feels right. When everything that’s been previously mentioned is mixed into the giant pot of NHL stew, this has the makings of championship for Tampa Bay. Let’s not act as though anyone (neither Boston nor Pens nor Vegas nor Preds) will get in their path towards another banner. They won’t. There will be no apology letters forthcoming either from Tampa Bay when they (probably) steamroll through the NHL.

And one does not often build a roster this complete and extensive only to see it crumble when the cookie hits the milk anyway. That’s not an option. Failure. Is not. An option. Hopefully you and the team alike are studying up on some Ed Harris. It could go a long way.

More than anything, we need to see them doing this for an infinite number of games:

As well as this celly. Someone make that into a skills competition and fast.

Finally, make sure that you check out each team’s “5 reasons” article as a precursor to these 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Give them some love, for goodness sake. And feel free to offer up a plethora of feedback. There’s nothing better than a good old-fashioned hockey debate. We can’t promise, though, that we’ve ever lost.
