1. Miami Dolphins

Adam freakin’ Gase. Gase is everything Baker Mayfield should want in a coach. He spearheaded the Bronco’s juggernaut offense under Peyton Manning, applying a timing based offense and demonstrating a clear ability to make the most of the receivers he has. The timing based offense is something that Mayfield is comfortable with. This puts Mayfield in a position to play right away if Ryan Tannehill doesn’t return to his former self.

The Dolphins wide receivers have the ability to both excel in a timing offense as well as stretch the field. The prior of those two falls on Danny Amendola and DeVante Parker.

Amendola spent the last few years of his career in the Patriots timing offense and is ready to translate that to the Dolphins. He generally stays within 20 yards of the line of scrimmage, making himself constantly available for the quarterback. He also averaged 2.9 yards of separation on routes last year, putting him in the top half of the league. Parker’s route tree is similar, although he has gone deep more than Amendola. These two will get open underneath of Mayfield.

Kenny Stills, with the help of Parker, will be required to stretch the field. Stills almost always has at least one route of 30+ yards every game, and will continue that. His ability to go deep will keep defenses honest, making it easier for Mayfield to find Amendola and Parker on those timing routes.

The coaching and receivers with the Dolphins make South Beach the best destination for Baker Mayfield.
