5 potential landing spots for Dez Bryant
1. Houston Texans
Regardless of who the quarterback was last year, before and after Deshaun Watson’s torn ACL, the Texan’s passing game was DeAndre Hopkins and little else. His 96 receptions for 1,378 yards and 13 touchdowns was 32.1 percent, 37.8 percent and 46.4 percent of the team’s production in those respective categories, with the next three leading pass catchers not equaling his catch total.
To this point in the offseason, heading into the draft, Sammie Coates is the only wide receiver the Texans have added. Quarterback/special teamer Joe Webb could also enter that mix at some point, but Houston has an obvious need at wide receiver they have yet to address.
If Bryant still sees himself as a No. 1 wide receiver, and there are indications he does, he may not want to fall in line behind Hopkins in the pecking order for targets. But otherwise a significant role would be available in Houston, with a top young quarterback in place (pending his return to the field) and the cap space ($34.13 million, via Over The Cap) to pay Bryant along the parameters he may seek.

If he wants to keep playing half his games in his home state, the Texans will be an appealing destination for Bryant. Sometime the obvious marriage of team need and a lot of other factors from the player’s end is the right one.
