Third Base, High End Spend

Matt Chapman, $4,200

.333/.333/.667 with 0 HR in 3 at-bats

Seattle is throwing Mike Leake tonight at that’s generally not someone we want to pick on. It’s not that Leake is a good fantasy pitcher but he’s one of the better ground ball pitchers in baseball. Even with that in mind, Chapman has been smashing baseballs. So far in 2018, he’s making hard contact at a whopping 48.7 percent of the time. Leake hasn’t been keeping the ball on the ground as much as he normally does so far. Chapman may be more of a GPP style play but he could continue to produce like he has all season long.

Also Consider – Josh Donaldson, $4,300

Mid-Range

Anthony Rendon, $3,500

.333/.333/.333 with 0 HR in 3 at-bats

One of the assumptions with Colorado Rockies pitchers is their better when they don’t pitch at Coors Field. That hasn’t been the case for Kyle Freeland in his career and Rendon is always interesting when he gets to face a lefty. His career numbers against lefties are fantastic with a .303 batting average, a .866 OPS and a .372 wOBA. Rendon has been awful so far against lefties this season, but don’t let nine plate appearances get in the way of that. His price is more than fair and he should hit high in the order tonight.

Also Consider – Alex Bregman, $3,800

Value

Christian Villanueva, $2,400

N/A

For his very short career, Villanueva is on the right side of his splits and gets a very mediocre lefty in Ty Blach for the Giants. He’s a borderline punt play and his claim to DFS fame is he hit three homers in a game a short time ago. I wouldn’t expect anything close to that but a solid double-digit effort could be had. I wouldn’t go crazy with this play as Blach is solid at keeping the ball on the ground. This is more if you absolutely love your lineup and he’s the only player that fits.

Also Consider – Matt Duffy, $2,600
