Mookie Betts, $4,500

.267/.353/.333 with 0 HR in 15 at-bats

Betts has 10 straight games with at least 6 FanDuel points and eight of them have been in double-digits. He’s white hot right now and Chris Tillman is just a terrible pitcher. The only pitch that Tillman throws that Betts isn’t above average so far this year is the changeup. That’s not nearly enough to scare me off and even on a big slate, Betts could wind up highly owned. So far in 2018 Betts is hitting righties with a .405 average, 1.045 OPS and a .448 wOBA. He appears to be one of the safest plays on the board.

Mid-Range

Starling Marte, $3,700

Marte historically has pretty solid numbers against lefties in his career with a .284 average, .775 OPS, and a .338 wOBA. This season(only 12 plate appearances) sees him hitting mere .182 but he’s still carrying a .341 wOBA. He’s got a big game coming against a lefty and it could be tonight. The ball park isn’t the most hitter friendly but that could work in Marte’s favor. If he’s not hitting home runs, that means he could be stealing bases. Peters hasn’t shown the ability to keep people off base so far and the Pirates offense is red hot.

Jackie Bradley Jr. 

.375/.444/.750 with 1 HR in 16 at-bats 

Bradley had himself a day yesterday, approaching 20 FanDuel points at a cheap price tag. He could replicate that fact today as his tag is still very low and he’s smacked around Chris Tillman in his career. For his part, Tillman has been terrible so far this season. His ERA is up over 8.00 and his strikeouts have plummeted. Boston doesn’t have a huge amount of power through their lineup but they don’t strikeout against right handed pitching. Only the pirates have struck out at a lesser percentage. There should be plenty of Red Sox on base and the points should be easy to come by.
