Pacers-Cavaliers (Game 1)

High Salary (Pacers)

Victor Oladipo ($9,500): This is new for Oladipo. He’s coming off a fantastic season, but he’s leading a team against LeBron James in the first round, where LeBron doesn’t lose games, much less series. He faltered as the second option in Oklahoma City last season. Can he pull it off as the top option? The Cavaliers defense is bad enough for Oladipo to thrive. But if LeBron decides he’s guarding the Pacers All-Star? Good luck. **

High Salary (Cavaliers)

LeBron James ($12,100): Playoff LeBron is in the building. He dominated in the Pacers in the regular season, was arguably the best player in the league after the All-Star break, and is a different animal in the playoffs. He’ll do what he always does in these games. *****

Kevin Love ($8,100): There are a lot of solid role players around James and then there’s Love. He’s an All-Star for a reason and he’s the guy James trusts the most, especially in the playoffs. He did well against the Pacers this season, averaging 37.1 fantasy points in four games. He’s going to get his points and rebounds playing next to LeBron. If you don’t want to take on LeBron’s salary, grab the guy who benefits the most. ****

High Value (Pacers)

Thaddeus Young ($5,700): Young is a guy who has dealt with the Cavaliers in the playoffs before. And he played well in the series last season. With a lot of question marks surrounding Indiana, he’s a steady hand who should hit value. ***

Lance Stephenson ($4,700): Another guy who is used to taking on Playoff LeBron is perhaps his biggest nemesis. This is a new experience for a lot of guys on Indiana, but this is an experience that Stephenson relishes. He’s an erratic as they come, but you know he won’t be afraid of this moment. ***

High Value (Cavaliers)

George Hill ($4,000): Identifying the shooter who is going to get hot next to LeBron will be key in these games. Hill is a guy with playoff experience although he did struggle following the trade to Cleveland. At this salary, he’s a good bet to at least hit value. ***

Rodney Hood ($3,900): You might like J.R. Smith at this same salary. Hood is my preference simply because he’s the starter. He started to find a rhythm at the end of the season as well. Smith has the playoff experience over the two. Flip a coin because one of them will provide secondary scoring. ***

Role Players

Indiana: Myles Turner ($5,400) struggled to finish the season, but did play well against Cleveland in the regular season. Darren Collison ($5,500) struggled with consistency following his return from injury. Bojan Bogdanovic ($4,800) will have a big shooting night in one game in this series but chances are it’ll come at home.

Cleveland: Jeff Green ($4,600) gets minutes next to LeBron, which is always a good sign for a players value. Jordan Clarkson ($3,800) and Larry Nance Jr. ($4,300) should provide decent minutes off the bench, but probably not enough production to consider. Kyle Korver ($3,600) is another guy who can get hot and someone who LeBron trusts.
