2. Arsenal 2003-04

It’s hard to argue with an unbeaten season. Arsenal’s Invincibles, who became the first team ever to complete a Premier League season without losing a game, come in second. Although they eventually won the league by 11 points, it wasn’t straightforward for the Gunners, as Chelsea and Manchester United challenged. The Blues even briefly went top before a 4-2 loss to surprise package Charlton meant Arsenal topped the table heading into the new year.

Wins over Liverpool and Chelsea gave Arsenal a commanding lead heading toward the end of the season and they eventually sealed the title at the home against rivals Tottenham. Arsene Wenger’s side were made up of some truly world-class individuals such as Thierry Henry, who surpassed 100 Premier League goals in a season that saw him pick up 30 to win the Golden Boot,  Dennis Bergkamp and, of course, Patrick Viera in central midfield.

They finished the season with the league’s best attack and the best defense, something not many title winners since can say. However, there’s still one side that pinches top spot from the unbeaten Gunners.
