2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Allen heads to Browns
By Brad Weiss
The Miami Dolphins failed to make the playoffs last season, after making it as a Wild Card team the year before. Playing with quarterback Ryan Tannehill, the Dolphins had to roll with Jay Cutler under center, and played ineffective football throughout the season. This offseason, the organization has been making wholesale changes to their roster, including saying goodbye to wide receiver Jarvis Landry, and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.
Suh was a big body up front for the team over the last couple of seasons, and needs to be replaced immediately. One player who could be available at No. 11 is Vita Vea, who has been a dominant force for the Washington Huskies. Some scouts like Vea to go early in the first round, but if he gets past the Oakland Raiders at No. 10, the Dolphins need to pounce on him to fill the void left by Suh.
Not only is Vea solid against the run, but he also has been known to really get after the quarterback. He is a rare blend of size and speed, and should be a difference maker at the next level. This Dolphins team may be a year or two away from getting back to the playoffs, but Vea is a much cheaper, and possibly better option at the position at this point in his career than Suh is for the Dolphins.
