2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Allen heads to Browns
By Brad Weiss
The Dallas Cowboys made one of the biggest moves of the offseason last week, as they released legendary wide receiver Dez Bryant. While Bryant is still a productive wideout, he never really developed a chemistry with Dak Prescott, as he has seen his numbers dip since Dak took over for Tony Romo. Dallas has already added Allen Hurns to the wide receiver group this offseason, but they would be wise to add another one via the NFL Draft.
That player should be Calvin Ridley, who is the best pure wide receiver in this draft class. Ridley proved himself to be a playmaker in a run-first offense during his time at Alabama, and should be a dominant player at the next level. He has the surest hands of any player in this draft class, and should work well with Prescott in the passing game, especially deep.
Dallas took a bit of a step back as a team last season, as they could not overcome star running back Ezekiel Elliott going down on a six-game suspension. Still, they saw good things from their young secondary, and with Elliott back in 2018, they should be a contender once again in the NFC. Ridley makes a lot of sense, and at a much-lower price tag, he may actually be more productive than Dez has been in recent years, even in year one.
