2018 NFL Mock Draft: Josh Allen heads to Browns
By Brad Weiss
The Denver Broncos pulled off a nice signing this offseason, when they grabbed Case Keenum from the Minnesota Vikings. Keenum is fresh off leading the Vikings to the NFC Championship Game, and will slide right in as the starting quarterback in Denver. With the group of players they trotted out to the position last season, Keenum is a definite upgrade over the likes of Brock Osweiler, Paxton Lynch, and Trevor Siemian.
With their quarterback in place for the next two seasons, the Broncos may want to use their top-five pick on a defensive player. With all the signal-callers going early in round one, a dominant pass rusher like Bradley Chubb could be available with the fifth overall pick. Some scouts like Chubb more than 2017 first overall selection Myles Garrett, so that shows the kind of talented edge rusher he is.
Denver has been led by their defense in recent years, and the unit took a bit of a hit this offseason. Bringing in a player like Chubb to team with a guy like Von Miller would give the Broncos a dominant one-two combo in the pass rush game. He has the talent to be the top player selected in this draft class, and he just makes so much sense to the Broncos if he gets past the first four teams selecting.
