The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a pretty disappointing 2017 season, as they failed to live up to lofty expectations. In fact, they were the only team in the NFC South to not make the playoffs, which is a pretty stunning stat in itself. Still, they have a solid young quarterback in Jameis Winston, and have added some pieces that should help them crawl out of the cellar in the division in 2018.

When it comes time for them to pick in the first round next Thursday, they should look to bolster their secondary. The best defensive back in this draft class, in my opinion, is Derwin James from Florida State. Not only is James the most versatile player in the draft class on defense, he has the talent to be an explosive return man at the next level as well.

James suffered a tough injury during the 2016 season, and that really affected the way he was seen heading into 2017. Still, he showed the world why he is such a highly-regarded prospect once he got healthy enough to look like player he was in 2015. He leaves Florida State as not only a dominant defensive back, but also the most decorated return man in the history of the program.
