The Chicago Bears are going to surprise some people next season, as they take the next step in their development. Last year, the Bears traded up one spot to take Mitchell Trubisky from North Carolina at No. 2, giving them their franchise quarterback. He played well as a rookie, though he was thrown in the fire too soon, as Mike Glennon was downright awful as the team’s starting quarterback early in the season.

With Trubisky with a full year under his belt, and some added weapons on offense, the Bears will be much better at putting up points. They were pretty solid on defense at times last season, and adding a quality linebacker at No. 8 would make a lot of sense. New head coach Matt Nagy is an offensive guy, so they could go another out, but Tremaine Edmunds would be hard to pass up at eighth overall.

Edmunds is only 19 years old, but he plays like an absolute animal when he is between the white lines. He is a player who will be dominant at the next level, and has that rare ability to play sideline to sideline. The Bears are building a solid roster in the Windy City, and in Edmunds, they would have their best young linebacker since Brian Urlacher.
