3. Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers

The NFC West is a loaded division like we talked about earlier, and this matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers is going to be the true battle for first place in that division. In the end, it could also turn out to be a battle for who goes on to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LIII.

It may be a bit of hyperbole after both teams’ made big splashes in free agency, but the Rams and 49ers are absolutely loading up for a run in 2018. The Rams bolstered their secondary in a big way this spring, signing Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters, while the 49ers added a big name from a divisional rival when they signed former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. All of those signings got football fans into a frenzy wondering if either team could make it to the top of the NFC.

The 49ers may still need some time to rebuild, considering 2018 will be the first full season the team gets with Jimmy Garoppolo. However, they proved at the end of the 2017 season that they’re ready for some serious success, and they could give the Rams a run in both of their games this season.

Any year that the NFC West is competitive tends to be a fun one in the NFL, and football fans will get some good games to tune into later in the day on multiple Sunday’s throughout the year when these two squads square off.
