How do you build around two unicorns? Shooting is a good place to start. Musa’s ability to score against mismatches would be highly valuable to Philadelphia, a team for whom mismatches are built into the gameplan. Run Musa as a screener toward Ben Simmons, and the smaller guy guarding Simmons is exposed against Musa. Put Musa in the corner next to a Simmons-Joel Embiid pick-and-roll, and just about any aggressive weak-side rotation will leave Musa open and with a free path to the hoop.

I think the Sixers target shooting with the Lakers’ pick at the top of the draft if it conveys to them, while the versatile offensive wings in this range should be Philly’s target at No. 26.

After a 36-point explosion earlier in April, Musa followed up with 14 points in 20 minutes this week, continuing an important boost in free-throw rate over his last five games. The Bosnian forward has attempted 4.6 free-throws per game over that stretch, drawing contact as he drives to the rim more consistently.

Philadelphia is ready to compete now, and need a shooter who can come in and play right away. If Musa’s dual-threat ability is real, he will be a valuable addition for the Sixers.
