4. Justin Anderson vs. Dwyane Wade

Justin Anderson only played two minutes of garbage time in Game 1 and never made it onto the court in Game 2, but he made his presence felt Thursday.

Just ask Dwyane Wade.

Early in the second quarter, Anderson found himself matched up on the 36-year-old, who yanked on his left arm to drag him away from the play. After Wade sent Anderson flying, the third-year forward quickly stood up and began jawing in his elder’s face before a referee dragged him away.

Following a video review, the officials decided to hand both Wade and Anderson well-deserved technical fouls, but neither was ejected from the game. That scrap appeared to fire Anderson up even further, as he knocked down a 3-pointer less than a minute later to help the Sixers stretch their lead to 40-35.

“[Anderson] came into the game to be a tough guy,” Wade told reporters after the game. “The officials didn’t do anything about it, so I did.”

Assuming the Heat maintain their physical style of play as this series progresses, don’t be surprised if Sixers head coach Brett Brown continues to turn to Anderson as a counter. The University of Virginia product proved Thursday night that despite his lack of playoff experience, he isn’t afraid to stand up to anyone, even a three-time NBA champion.
