High Salary C

Joel Embiid ($9,600): Embiid ended up playing in Game 3 and has a big impact, finishing with 46.4 fantasy points. Hassan Whiteside should be the defensive presence Miami needs to give him trouble, but Whiteside looks 100 percent checked out. Embiid says he’s built for playoff basketball and this man has never told a lie. ****

Clint Capela ($7,900): Capela was slightly under value in Game 2. He collected plenty of rebounds as I’m not sure Minnesota made a single field goal, but his scoring was down. That was due to Chris Paul being the guard to go off for Houston and not James Harden. Capela’s value is more tied to Harden, but he’s going to be a factor either way. ***

High Value C

Steven Adams ($6,200): Foul trouble limited Adams in Game 2. Assuming he’s smarter with his hands in Game 3, he should be back up to his usual 35-plus minutes. He hasn’t had much success against Rudy Gobert this season, but minutes matter and he’ll play enough to contribute. At this salary, he should at least hit value. ***

Hassan Whiteside ($5,400): There’s really no reason to take Whiteside unless you think he’ll finally be engaged in this series. Embiid’s return should have seen him step up and take that challenge, but it didn’t happen. The talent is and it’s always possible that he decides he’s going to be an impact player that he can be. But he’s most certainly a risk. **
