25 TV Dads that would make elite MLB managers
Michael Bluth
Michael Bluth was more than just a father. His father was a healthy man who lost everything. And he was the one son who had no choice but to keep them all together. Bluth is a man who thrives in chaos. It’s all around him. His family is in shambles following his father going to jail.
But Michael holds it all together. Well, for the better part of three seasons, anyway. In the end he goes mental because who wouldn’t go mental after dealing with everything he’s decided to deal with? Granted, most of it is his fault. He chose to try and hold his family together. Stay in your lane, Michael.
Michael’s best attribute is handling so many egos and personalities. That’s a big part of being a MLB manager. In fact, since the job is easy and all you do is sit there and spit sunflower seeds, managing egos is the toughest part of the job. It’s not easy telling Giancarlo Stanton that striking out twice a game is a bad strategy and he should knock it off. And that’s why….
Best Fit: New York Yankees
There is a lot of talent on the Yankees. Aaron Judge, Stanton, Gary Sanchez, the best player on the team Didi Gregorius. Knowing the Yankees, they’re going to add Joey Votto by the end of the season. You need someone to deal with all those personalities.
Michael Bluth is that man.
Now, this relationship would not last long. After two and a half seasons, Bluth would start to go crazy. He’d get sick of Stanton and Judge striking out every other at bat. He’d grow tired of Derek Jeter appearing on television, saying he’s better than Gregorius. He’d be missing the antics of GOB and the banana stand.
It’d be a fun couple of seasons with a tragic ending where guys don’t even show up half the time.
