25 TV Dads that would make elite MLB managers
Eric Taylor
Leading a group of high school football players to a state title is pretty much the same thing as leading a MLB team to a World Series.
Taylor is dedicated to his job. He eats, sleeps, and breathes coaching. He’s not afraid to pull over the bus and make the team run sprints up and down a muddy hill. And if you’re not happy about it, he’ll make you walk home while everyone else takes the bus. He’s not afraid to make the tough decisions, like benching his top quarterback despite QB1’s relationship with his daughter. Coach Taylor doesn’t act on emotions. He’s going to put the best team possible on the field to win games.
He’s smart, he’s inspirational, and he would win a World Series within his first three seasons. It doesn’t matter the team he’s stuck with. Clear eyes, full heart, can’t lose.
Best Fit: Philadelphia Phillies
Everyone tells me that Gabe Kapler is the worst manager in sports. Philadelphia sports fans are obviously spoiled after watching Doug Pederson, Jay Wright and Brett Brown this past season. Kapler might be bad, I don’t know, I have better things to do than watch Phillies games. Like watch Reds game. But Kapler can’t be the worst manager in the league if the Phillies aren’t the worst team in the league.
For the sake of this article, let’s pretend that Kapler is the worst manager in baseball. In that case, they need the best manager in high school football. And one who just so happens to be in Philadelphia. This is your year, Philly. You’re winning a title in every sport.
