Outfield, High End Spend

Giancarlo Stanton, $4,800

.583/.706/1.417 with 3 HR in 12 at-bats

It’s going to be very fun to see what Stanton’s ownership is today. he’s coming into this game in terrible form, accumulating double digit FanDuel points in five of his last 18 games. At his price point, you need at least double digits to feel good about spending that money. Maybe seeing Jaime Garcia will wake Stanton up. In addition to that BvP data, Stanton has also walked five times. Stanton has gotten on base 66 percent of the time he’s faced Garcia. He’s the kind of bat who can put up a monster game in the blink of an eye and I plan to have some Stanton today for sure. Just as a reminder of how good Stanton is vs lefties in his career – .294 average, 1.030 OPS, .323 ISO and .425 wOBA. Those are too massive to totally ignore.

Also Consider – Aaron Judge, $5,400 and Rhys Hoskins, $4,900

Mid-Range

Ryan Braun, $3,200

N/A

I think the only way Ryan Braun won’t be in my main lineup today is if he doesn’t play for the Brewers. As long as he’s active, he’s way too cheap against a poor lefty to think about fading. Marlins lefty Caleb Smith has faced a Toal of 117 righties in his career and has given up a .888 OPS and a .377 wOBA. In addition, he’s also given up fly balls over 50 percent of the time and sports a 40.6 hard contact rate. Braun loves smashing lefties with career numbers that include a .330 average, 1.017 OPS and a .426 wOBA. This is a match made in heaven for fantasy baseball and I’m openly begging the Brewers – please let Braun play today. He’s in a smash spot and I want to play him very badly.

Also Consider – Preston Tucker, $3,000, Mallex Smith, $3,200 and Nicholas Castellanos, $3,600

Value

Jacoby Jones, $2,500

.000/.000/.000 with 0 HR in 2 at-bats

There’s nothing crazy that stands out statistically about this play. It’s simply a cheap player who draws a terrible pitcher and jones is red-hot by his standards in his last four games. He’s hit at least double digit fantasy points in four straight, including an effort that topped 30 FanDuel points. Still just 25, there’s at least a very small possibility that things are starting to click in for Jones. In 38 plate appearances, he’s hitting over .300 and his wOBA is over .350. He’s also making hard contact 40 percent of the time in 2018 and the Tigers have all the motivation to see if this is for real with him or not.

Also Consider – Bradley Zimmer, $2,400, Jesse Winker, $2,600 and Hernan Perez, $2,500
