Spurs-Warriors (Warriors Lead 3-1)

Much like Heat-Sixers, I don’t have high hopes for Warriors-Spurs. The Spurs were able to take a game in San Antonio thanks to some defensive breakdowns on the Golden State side, but they’ll clean everything up and be re-focused in this close out game.

Unless, they’re not.

My theory is that they’re prolonging the series to give Steph Curry more time to recover before the second round. Yes, the Warriors are that good and the Spurs are that overmatched.

For the Spurs to hit like they did in Game 4, either my theory would be correct or a lot of things would have to go right for them once again. It’s not likely to happen. Not in Golden State.

Rudy Gay has been a consistent option all series and can be taken with some comfortability. Manu Ginobili is forever and maybe he has another vintage Manu game. Dejounte Murray even provided valuable minutes in Game 4. But expecting Ginobili and Murray to have similar performances is a tough ask given their opponent and the adjustments Steve Kerr will make.

LaMarcus Aldridge still has the highest ceiling of any Spurs player. He’s not a bad option at his salary as he’s played well in the last three games. But Draymond Green, at a lower salary, is a better play. His ceiling isn’t quite as high, but he too has been solid this series and comes with a lower price tag.

Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala should have bounce back games after struggling in Game 4. Kevin Durant will be his usual consistent self. Shaun Livingston has been solid off the bench and you could do worse than him as a punt option at guard.
