Catcher/First Base, High End Spend

Cody Bellinger, $3,900

N/A

The Dodgers first baseman has dipped below $4,000 and he’s in a really good spot tonight. We’ve been attacking the Marlins pitching staff this whole series and Bellinger finally draws a righty tonight. He’s been locked in hitting right-handers so far this year with a .346 average, .924 OPS and a .393 wOBA. The crazy part about this numbers is that Bellinger has hit exactly two homers off righties so far in 2018. That’s not going to keep up and even his strikeout rate is down vs. the handedness. Trevor Richards is giving up fly balls about 30 percent of the time and that’s to go along with an almost 40 percent hard contact rate.

Also Consider – Jose Martinez, $3,800

Mid-Range

Yan Gomes, $3,000

.333/.333/.333 with 0 HR in 12 at-bats

Gomes is having a pretty good season against lefty pitching and his career numbers have always been solid against the handedness. He’s hitting .277 with a .796 OPS and a .341 wOBA through his career and those numbers all look better this season. Although Jon Lester has good numbers against righties so far in 2018, you never really know which version of Lester will show up anymore. The Cleveland offense is a lot better than they’ve shown so far and Lester could have a bit of trouble tonight.

Also Consider – Matt Olson, $2,900

Value

Wilson Ramos, $2,300

N/A

It’s been quiet but Ramos is actually starting to hit a little better. He’s scored double-digit FanDuel points in four of his last five games and now gets to take on former teammate Alex Cobb. Ramos has been a little above average against righties so far but he also started very cold. Speaking of starting cold, not many pitchers have had a worse start to their season than Cobb. He’s been a mess and hasn’t been able to get anyone out. Ramos is simply too cheap for his potential and he’s a good way to help pay off Kershaw tonight.

Also Consider – Lucas Duda, $2,300
