Twitter reacts to the questionable UFC pound-for-pound rankings that saw an undefeated fighter fall while an inactive fighter moved up.

The UFC fighter rankings have always been a hot topic among fans, but the most recent update to the UFC pound-for-pound rankings have been raising a few eyebrows more than ever.

The rankings, which were made public on Wednesday, showed former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor move up in rankings, and the new lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, moving down in the rankings.

This is particularly perplexing because McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC since Nov. 2016 and was recently stripped of his last title. Not to mention he threw a dolly at a bus full of UFC fighters and personnel and could face jail time. In contrast, Nurmagomedov won a fight in the last 30 days, was named the new lightweight champion and is currently undefeated.

Something isn’t adding up, and Twitter is not letting it go without notice.

Nurmagomedov defeated Al Iaquinta at UFC 223 to become the undisputed lightweight champion just days after McGregor was arrested and charged with assault after attacking a bus in search of Nurmagomedov. McGregor’s last UFC appearance was at UFC 205, where he defeated Eddie Alvarez to become the lightweight champion, and the first UFC fighter to hold two belts in two weight classes at the same time. McGregor no longer has either belt.
