Jacob Evans. 21. player. 118. . G. Cincinnati

Watching Donovan Mitchell and Ricky Rubio throughout the year, I couldn’t help but be impressed — the fit is much better than anyone could have ever imagined. Mitchell’s smoothness and clutch scoring is offset by Rubio’s play-making and sudden onset shooting explosiveness (despite that trademark catapult shot), creating a backcourt that is somehow now one of the best in the league.

Evans would simply add to that.

He fits a lot of what the Jazz do — scoring within an egalitarian, motion system, playing aggressive individual defense and shooting well. He would be an excellent fit next to either Mitchell or Rubio, in addition to the play-making ability to himself lead the second unit for spurts.

One of the best things about Utah is that their system makes so much possible (see Joe Ingles and Jae Crowder going off in Game 5). Evans would be maximized with the Jazz and help the team around him. They have a decision looming on Dante Exum, and Evans would provide a higher-caliber replacement as one of the best defensive guards in the NCAA last season.
