Cleveland radio host vowed to eat horse poop if Baker Mayfield went No. 1

The internet is now turning its attention to Aaron Goldhammer after a promise made before the NFL Draft.

The internet is a very cold and unforgiving place as anybody who regularly surfs the web nowadays knows. If Cleveland radio host Aaron Goldhammer did not knows this beforehand, he knows now.

Let’s pause for a second though — before diving into this man’s mistake — to discuss how awesome the last name Goldhammer is? It’s pretty awesome. Anyways, Goldhammer made a promise to his listeners before the draft that if the Cleveland Browns took Baker Mayfield first overall, he’d eat horse poop. And, well… we all know what happened at No. 1 overall.

There are three guarantees in life: death, taxes and the NFL Draft being unpredictable. So, in many ways, Goldhammer deserves what’s coming to him. It’s commonplace to make silly bets regarding draft choices, outcomes of games, etc.

However, there is no reason to ever raise the stakes this high — especially for the NFL Draft. Luckily for Goldhammer, there is no physical proof of him making this bet. Whereas there is the words of his listeners, there are no tweets, no pictures or anything of the sort to hold this against him in writing. Regardless, Goldhammer’s still taking it like a champ.

There is no word yet on whether the ESPN Cleveland radio host plans to follow through with his promise. While it is a disgusting and vile bet to lose, he had to know what he was getting into. You cannot help but feel for the man though as Mayfield wasn’t even in the running for No. 1 before the days leading up to the draft. Leave it to the Browns to shock the nation and bring misery upon at least one man in the city of Cleveland.
