FanDuel MLB Lineup and Picks for Friday, April 27
Third Base, High End Spend
Jose Ramirez, $4,400
.000/.000/.000 with 0 HR in 4 at-bats
One of the more popular stacks on the slat eight end up being the Indians because they get to face Erasmo Ramirez, who’s sporting an ERA over 9.00 this year. It’s only 11 batters, but Erasmo is getting wrecked by lefty bats. He’s surrendering an OPS of 1.000 and a wOBA of .537 and he hasn’t been very good against lefties the past two seasons either. Ramirez hasn’t been quite as consistent as he was last year for Cleveland, but does still have seven homers already. Even with an average of just .250 against righties, his OPS is .942 and the wOBA is .401. Jose Ramirez is likely the best hefty spend at third bas tonight.
Also Consider – Alex Bregman, $3,800
Mid-Range
Evan Longoria, $3,200

This play may seem a bit weird considering Hyun-jin Ryu has been lights out to start the season but the Giants lineup is built to be better against lefty pitchers. Longoria has gotten off to a shaky start in the Bay but he’s been hitting lefties just fine with a .265 average, .971 OPS and a .410 wOBA. Ryu hasn’t really been hurt by righty batters yet this year but he’s also not this good of a pitcher. He’s due for regression and he could find it as soon as tonight. Between the park they’re playing in and the perceived bad matchup, Longoria will likely carry very little ownership.
Also Consider – Yolmer Sanchez, $3,100
Value
Kike Hernandez, $2,700
.500/.333/1.000 with 0 HR in 2 at-bats
The Giants are pitching lefty Derek Holland tonight, who’s giving up an egregious amount of fly balls to go along with his 39 percent hard contact rate. Those rates spike even higher when he’s facing righty hitting and Hernadez excels at hitting lefties with a career .877 OPS and a .372 wOBA. Even though he is firmly in play, beware that he could be subbed out late. Since he’s got pretty large splits, it’s easy for the opposing team to throw a right hander at him. Manager Dave Roberts elected to pull him from the game earlier in the week in that circumstance.
Also Consider – Eugenio Suarez, $2,000 – He’s likely going to be pretty chalky because FanDuel didn’t raise his price for some unknown reason
