FanDuel MLB Lineup and Picks for Friday, April 27
Shortstop, High End Spend
Manny Macahdo, $4,600
.167/.167/.333 with 0 HR in 6 at-bats
Machado is one of the hotter hitters in baseball right now and the baseball has to look like a beach ball to him. He’s crushing any pitching right now, be it lefty or righty. He’s got worse splits against righties and still has an average over .340, and OPS over 1.000 and a wOBA over .445. Mike Fiers is pitching for Detroit tonight and righties are smacking him around with an average of .325 and a wOBA of .345. Machado can stay hot for quite a while and he’s the premier option at the position this evening.
Also Consider – Paul DeJong, $4,000
Mid-Range
Tim Anderson, $3,300
.364/.391/.500 with 1 HR in 22 at-bats
I mentioned earlier that there was one other White Sox batter that I wanted to target tonight and we’ve arrived at that spot. Anderson is always going to carry strikeout downside but he’s also hit lefties well his entire career. He sees Duffy well and he carries a career batting average of .327, an OPS of .831 and a wOBA of .354. Those rates have skyrocketed to this point in 2018 and he’s definitely in play for this evening. Even if you don’t get a home run, Anderson has already stolen eight bases so that upside is there. Shortstop is sometimes a difficult position to fill but Anderson is a great play that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
Also Consider – Eduardo Escobar, $3,400 and Corey Seager, $3,400 if he plays. It’s interesting because it’s a really low price for Seager’s talent and the “day-to-day” label will likely scare people away. He’s a great GPP option especially.
Value
For now, there is nobody that truly stands out. As always, the lineup cards might give us a gift and we can jump on it tomorrow night. Even with paying for a high end pitcher, there should be plenty of money to put towards Tim Anderson as the cheapest option at the moment.
