The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had a parrot ready to announce their fourth-round pick at the 2018 NFL Draft, and the damn thing froze in the moment.

Tampa Bay hasn’t been doing so hot in recent years, not winning a single playoff game since Super Bowl XXXVII back in the 2002 season. When you have that kind of run, you’ll do anything to change it up. Enter Zsa Zsa, the parrot.

All week, we’ve heard about this bird and how it was going to announce the pick come the fourth round. With Tampa Bay making its pick, Zsa Zsa came to the microphone and had it’s moment at hand. Instead of stepping up and etching its name into lore, it dropped the proverbial ball something fierce.

What the hell happened here? The Buccaneers have to do better. Zsa Zsa basically looked like Jameis Winton facing the blitz. If Tampa Bay is going to put that nonsense on a national stage, the fans should demand and expect a public apology.

In the meantime, the 2018 NFL Draft continues on. The end of the draft is on Saturday afternoon and then the run on undrafted free agents gets going, which frankly can be more interesting than the last few rounds.

Maybe the Buccaneers can take some time to train Zsa Zsa between then and now, and have it make some phone calls to the group. Then again, perhaps the parrot needs to decompress and go back to its bird cage where it belonged in the first place.
