Going into the season, few if anyone predicted the type of season that Burnley and Brighton have had. Burnley have shocked everyone, sitting in seventh for most of the season. Brighton were a popular people to be relegated at the start of the season. However, with four games remaining, the Seagulls are seven points above the relegation zone.

Burnley have been successful this season because of their defense. Only three teams have allowed fewer goals than the Clarets. Burnley’s strong defense has made up for a weak offense. Only six teams have scored fewer goals than the Clarets. Chris Wood and Ashley Baines have each scored nine goals this season. While unlikely, Burnley could catch Arsenal for sixth place. The Gunners are four points ahead of Burnley with four games remaining.

Brighton were able to steal a point from Tottenham last weekend but have struggled over their last five games. The Seagulls have only two points in their last five games. A win on Saturday by Brighton and a Southampton loss would seal the Seagulls place in the Premier Leauge next season. Glenn Murray and Pascal Gross have had strong seasons leading the attack for Brighton. The two players have combined for 18 goals and eight assists. However, outside of Murray and Gross, Brighton have struggled to score goals. Only three times have scored fewer goals than Brighton.
