FanDuel Lineup and Picks for Saturday, April 28
Catcher/First Base, High End Spend
Jose Abreu, $3,800
.000/.000/.000 with 0 HR in 2 at-bats
He may have let us down last night, but it might not be a bad idea to go right back to the well with Abreu tonight. First off, it sure feels like anytime I pay up for a stud and they give me a three-point performance, they go yard the next night. Abreu not only historically hits lefties well but he get Eric Skoglund tonight for the Royals. That’s not a good match for Kansas City and Abreu has a great chance for a big game again. For a refresher, Abreu hits lefties to a tune of .304 with a .909 OPS, .236 ISO and .384 wOBA. He’s due for a bounce back tonight.
Mid-Range
Buster Posey, $2,800
.389/.421/.500 with 0 HR in 18 at-bats
Even with eight games on the slate, Posey may fly under the radar but he hits opposing starter Alex Wood pretty well. Wood actually is typically pretty hard to hit for righty batters and it’s not a situation where we’d stack against him. Posey is a great one off at a very cheap price for his potential. He absolutely smashes lefty pitching and that’s been even better since the start of 2017. His average is at least .323, an OPS of .954 and a .409 wOBA. Posey should really never be this cheap and certainly not against Alex Wood.
Value
Chris Iannetta, $2,500
N/A
The game may not be in Coors Field but Iannetta is still a fine cheap target for this evening. He draws a mediocre lefty who’s giving up a .342 wOBA and surrendering a 41 percent hard contact rate. Through his career, Iannetta has hit lefties well with a .851 OPS and a .371 wOBA. There’s no ace pitcher to pay up for like some nights but that doesn’t mean Iannetta can’t help you afford a bigger bat on this slate.
